The Dean of Students’ Affairs, University of Ibadan, Professor A. T. P Ajuwape, has urged the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Idowu Olayinka, to approve training for the members of the University of Ibadan Students’ Representatives Council, who were just sworn into office.

The Dean made this request while giving his speech during the handing over ceremony at Trenchard Hall, on Monday, 8th May, 2017.

According to him, while the previous SRC members were not adequately trained for the role they played, such should not be the case for the new members of the House, in order for them not to go astray.

“Mr. Vice Chancellor, I want to crave your indulgence that you would approve training for these ones, so they would not go astray”, the Dean said.
Professor Ajuwape in his speech acknowledge the effort of the sixth assembly of the Students’ Representatives Council, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Onifade Bello, who was also acknowledged by the Director, Directorate of Public Communications, University of Ibadan, Mr. Tunji Oladejo, as the “Acting President of the Students’ Union”.

The Dean mentioned that the sixth assembly was one of a kind since he became the Dean of Students, adding that should the actions of national legislators be the same as theirs, the country would have become a better place to be.

“The outgoing SRC, I have never seen their kind since I took over. I want to thank you very much. If the legislators outside can do what these ones have done, our country would be better”, he said.
